HEBRON, Ohio (September 25, 2010) – James Monroe lead all winners on day two of the NHRA JEGS Northern SPORTSnationals that was filled with final qualifying and time trails along with an afternoon filled with specialty races.

Monroe took the win and the trophy for the Top Dragster JEGS Shootout with a final round win over Rick Forish. The racer from Bloomington, Ind., went 6.829 seconds at 184.65 mph. The win was Monroe’s second JEGS Shootout as he won the event back in 2008.

On the opposite side of the ladder, Daniels beat Stephen Hebert in round one, Charlie Westcott Sr. in round two, and Gary Wolkwitz in the semifinals. Daniels broke his motor and did not run the final but will get the win after all. Daniels ran 8.52’s throughout eliminations.

The Super Eliminator Shootouts presented by Moser Engineering saw London, Ohio, racer Pat Martin beat Mary Ann Jackson, Mansfield, Ohio, on a holeshot in Super Comp and Steve Hoyt, Fort Wayne, Ind., win over Doug Kroft, Wabash, Ind., in Super Gas with Kroft breaking out on the 9.90 second index. Georgetown, Ky., resident Dan Carter took the trophy in Super Street in his ’68 Camaro against Damien Hazelton when the Ottawa, Ohio, racer left early with a foul start.
