Carrier Boyz Racing FRAM AirHog Dragster joins NASCAR festivities at Bristol Motor Speedway
In front of the largest sports audience in the state of Tennessee, the Carrier Boyz FRAM AirHog NHRA Top Fuel dragster, driven by Cory McClenathan, will take to the Bristol Motor Speedway half-mile, all-concrete oval on Sunday, April 3 for the Nextel Cup Food City 500. Okay, the FRAM AirHog dragster isn't actually going to race but will give the 160,000 fans a carnival for their senses when McClenathan starts up the 7000 horsepower plus dragster and fills the air with both sound and the smell of nitromethane.
P & G Racing: A History
Sweden's P & G Racing Top Fuel Dragster team were one of the longest-established race teams in European drag racing history. Pelle Lindelöw and Gunnar Elmqvist started racing in 1971 with Renaults, finally calling it a day in 2001 after racing Top Fuel for a number of years. Gainesville Raceway's Lucas Oil event rained out for the second time
NHRA Southeast division racers returned to Gainesville Raceway to complete the rain-delayed NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event only to be rained out again. The event has been postponed to August 5 and 6 with time trials on Friday and eliminations on Saturday. The original date was February 25-27.

The fastest Jet on the planet!
UK Jet Funny Car pilot Martin Hill became the fastest Jet-powered drag racer on the planet at Santa Pod Raceway this afternoon when he recorded an astounding 336.10 mph on a demonstration pass at the Easter Thunderball. Martin's speed eclipses the previous best of 330.90 by US Jet Dragster racer Bill Mattio, and was accepted by Santa Pod Raceway's Chief Timekeeper. Price on Head of Australian Drag Racing Icon
Australian Drag Racing icon Brett ‘The Boss’ Stevens has had a price of $100,000 put on his head by the Kids With Cancer Foundation Australia. If the money can be raised for the charity, the Brisbane based professional racer will be putting his head, or more to the point, his distinctive metre long ponytail on the chopping block.

Nocita graduates from Irwindale to NHRA

Big finale for drag racing season
MASTERTON Motorplex officials are looking back on their best season ever -- 'by a long way' -- says events organiser Bob Wilton. A 260mph run by Richard Smith's jet-powered Warhawk, the fastest-ever down the Hood Aerodrome strip, and the turnout of seven top Australian drag bikes plus all the usual drag action provided plenty of entertainment for a smaller-than-hoped-for crowd.

A car screams over a racetrack at over 300 mph, it's jet engine spewing flames. Behind the wheel sits a beautiful young girl. No she's not the star of your child's new favorite Saturday morning cartoon, she's Jessica Harris, the 'Queen of Diamonds,' and one of the biggest stars in drag racing.
Pedregon makes successful return at Midget Nationals
Cruz Pedregon is not a drag racer. He is a race car driver who just happens to compete in the National Hot Rod Association Drag Racing Series. His skills are not limited to the straight-line set and the second-generation racer. One of two drivers since 1990 other than John Force to win a NHRA Funny Car title - his brother Tony is the other showed how interchangeable his talent is in January.

SFI Inspection Team visit UK
The SFI Inspection Team made their 2005 UK stop at Santa Pod Raceway on Friday 11th March. SFI Foundation President Arnie Kuhns and inspectors Tim Hyatt, Murf McKinney and Andy Robinson inspected a near-record number of clutches, bellhousings and wheels. Eurodragster.com went along to Santa Pod Raceway to check the SFI Day, kicking off by interviewing Arnie Kuhns about the SFI programme and how SFI specs are set, and also speaking to Tim Hyatt, Murf McKinney and the racers who brought parts for inspection.

Noise board says no to drag racing
After an avalanche of opposition from neighborhood groups, the city's Noise Review Board on Wednesday denied a request from Portland International Raceway for a variance that would allow regional drag racing at the track this summer. In denying the track a 'no limit' variance for regional drag races in August, the board cited several factors, including the potential for dangerous noise levels and a lack of community outreach by the raceway.

Raceway hosts first drag racing series of the year

Legends of the Quarter Mile: Ed Donovan
In doing my research on Ed Donovan it has me realize just how much I wish I had been fortunate enough to meet and spend some time with him. He was, from all accounts a fine man and most certainly a friend to drag racing and the racers themselves.
South Africa: Drag racing moves to Virginia airport
It's now official. Durban's new venue for drag racing is Virginia Airport. eThekwini Municipality Deputy Mayor Logie Naidoo told the Daily News yesterday that preparations for moving drag racing events from the current venue in Greyville's First Avenue to Virginia Airport were well underway, with the first event expected before June this year.

Mother Nature washes out Firebird racing
Rain delayed the start of racing, then ended Saturday's action early for the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Goodyear Pacific Division Opener at Firebird International Raceway. Racers finally took to the track about 1 p.m. with round one of eliminations in Super Street, Super Gas, and Super Comp being completed before rain forced NHRA and Firebird officials to postpone final qualifying for the Top Alcohol Dragster, Funny Car, and Comp Eliminator classes.

Female drag racer takes winning one step at a time
Erica Enders isn't content merely with making NHRA history. She became only the fifth female driver to qualify for an NHRA Pro Stock field last weekend when she qualified 16th (out of 26 cars) for the Checker Schuck's Kragen NHRA Nationals at Firebird International Raceway in Chandler, Ariz. Now she wants to win.

Emergency workers responded to Robert Ladd's home in Bradley County after one of his relatives found his body Monday afternoon. Officials said they believe Ladd was working underneath one of his race cars Saturday when the car fell on top of him.
