RK Motors Charlotte cruises to 2011 east coast Super Chevy events with custom 1969 Camaro RK1

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – April 7, 2011 – RK Motors Charlotte, one of the nation's premier restorers, re-sellers and builders of classic, muscle and high-performance cars, will sponsor the 2011 Super Chevy tour, including Super Chevy Palm Beach and Super Chevy Rockingham. Both events are part of the RK Motors Charlotte car show tour scheduled throughout the year and will feature the RK Motors Charlotte's 1969 Chevrolet Camaro "RK1" convertible at select stops.

"We're thrilled to be a part of the exciting festivities that will take place during the Super Chevy events," said Joseph Carroll, RK Motors Charlotte president and CEO. "The Super Chevy Shows feature some of the best Detroit iron from across the country with everything from drag racing to swap meets. We'll be right in the heart of the action with an incredible machine."

The RK Motors Design/Build division built "RK1" starting with the original body. Its Sunset Orange exterior is a hybrid of GM's Sunset Orange with liberal use of pearl and metallics. The door handles have electric switches for the actuators to open them with a touch.

Under the hood, the all-aluminum 582 cid big block generates up to 772 horsepower and 775 pounds of torque. The car has a Tremec TKO600 five-speed manual transmission to deliver the power to the rear. Colorado custom billet wheels with Michelin Pilot Z-rated tires put the metal to pavement, while NASCAR-spec Wilwood discs at all four corners with six-piston calipers up front and four-piston units in the rear stop the Chevy.

"This is one of our more creative projects," noted Carroll. "We have hundreds of photos of the build itself, including manuals and receipts from the parts that went into it. We really pushed the envelope with this Camaro."

"The interior is just as spectacular as the rest of the car and was 100 percent custom fabricated by our Design/Build division," added Carroll. "The RK Motors Charlotte team has years of experience, making this one of the most well-engineered cars available today."

The Camaro is scheduled to attend the following Super Chevy events:

April 8-10, 2011
Super Chevy Palm Beach
Jupiter, Fla.

Oct. 21-23, 2011
Super Chevy Rockingham
Rockingham, N.C.

"The Super Chevy Show series is very pleased to add RK Motors Charlotte as a new sponsor to the national tour in 2011, especially with their on-site presence at two of our East Coast shows," said Lex Dudas, President of SCSW, LLC., parent company to the Super Chevy Show series. "They have really hit on a great opportunity to reach thousands of collector car enthusiasts through the Super Chevy Show series, promoting their ability to buy, sell, restore or build cars for fans and participants at our events."
