Heres a detailed report from our boss Jagger Naves... Hope you enjoy, we had a blast!
Earth Shaking Entertainment had a GREAT show last night at 75-80 Dragway in Monrovia Maryland! BUNNY BURKETT, ROCKY PIRRONE, DELBERT WHITE and DAVID WILCOX left it all out there with some HUGE burnouts and wild runs!
With the track surface a bit slippier then the track management was comfortable with, the decision was made to run the first two rounds as singles. Everyone would make two single passes and the quickest two would come back for a third and final round and run side by side under the lights.
First to take the stage was Ms. Bunny Burkett piloting her amazing 1978 Corvette! With her traditional American flag mounted monster burnout, Bunny started things off right! The crowd went nuts after she lit em' up! The car sounded great, but seemed to drive through the clutch and Bunny clicked it to a 4.60. Although the crowd loved it, Bunny wasn't too happy with that performance and would get another shot. It would qualify her number one for the moment.
Next was David Wilcox in The Dirty Bird Pontiac powered machine. After a small stumble before the burnout, they got the Dirty Bird fired up. David drove the Dirty Bird to the number two qualifying position driving through tire shake to a 4.63.
Delbert White was next in line with his beautiful 1998 Pontiac Firebird. With a monstrous burnout, Delbert put the rest of the field on notice! Delbert would run the 2nd quickest number of the night to take the #1 qualifying position with a pedaling 4.21 at only 156 M.P.H! He got into some tire shake but was able to pedal once and drive her on down. The crowd showed their appreciation!
Last but not least in round number one was our other nostalgia bodied car with Rocky Pirrone and the Screaming Eagle 77' Firebird! Rocky had the fans in the stands on their feet with a NASTY 1/8th mile burnout! It sounded like he was never going to get out of it! It was an amazing act of showmanship and had the crowd buzzing! Rocky would take the #2 qualifying position with a solid 4.40.
2nd round would again be singles, but this time it would be under the lights! Delbert White was up first. He put on another great show with a big burnout and pedaled his machine to a respectable 4.35.
One of the more memorable times of the night was our next team, Rocky Pirrone and the Screaming Eagle. After the car started, they added a special cocktail to the mix and gave the crowd at 75-80 three foot FLAMES out of every pipe! It was AMAZING! The crowd didn't know what to think and the track LOVED it! Rocky gave them another great burnout and ran a consistent 4.42! Even after the chutes were open at the other end, the crowd was still talking about the flame show!
David Wilcox gave it another shot, but after starting the car, realized it was on hitting on 7 cylinders. So what did the Dirty Bird do? He laid down a 1/2 track burnout spitting fuel the entire time! He staged and still left hard running a 4.54 on just 7 cylinders. I really had to give them credit for such a good show even being down on power!
Last up for round #2 was Bunny Burkett. With another SICK burnout, Bunny had her screaming on the starting line! She left hard with a 60 foot time in the .980's and drove her to a 4.23! That would make her our #2 qualifier and would set up the final round. #1 qualifier Delbert White (4.21) -vs- #2 qualifier Bunny Burkett (4.23).
The final was run at about 10:30 at night. The heat had dropped off and cooler air was rolling in. Delbert and Bunny started things out with more of the same massive burnouts! The two backed up and rolled into the beams with Bunny staging last. The motors came up and it was Delbert leaving first hard with a .970 60' foot time! But it was short lived when he had to pedal through tire shake and Ms. Bunny Burkett drove around him with low ET of the night 4.17!!! Just 8 hundredths of a second off the track record of a 4.09! With Bunny being the crowd favorite, the fans got what they wanted! Earth Shaking Entertainment can't thank the track, our drivers, and our fans enough for a great show! We hope to be back at 75-80 in 2011!
