KANSAS CITY, Mo. (March 9, 2011)- Following huge success in 2010, the Super Chevy Show series presented by GM Performance Division will once again include Revell Make ‘N Take activities.
Revell, the authentic model-building experience since 1945, brought Make ‘N Take to the series in hopes of re-introducing model-building to families today.
Last year, Revell joined the Super Chevy Show fun halfway through the season and was very impressed with the large amount of positive feedback. As a result, Revell Make ‘N Take activities will be available at all 12 Super Chevy Show events throughout the 2011 season.
Jim Campisano, Editor of Super Chevy Magazine explained, “When I was a kid, I built model cars like crazy, so to see young kids building model cars at the Revell Make ‘N Take program last year was really rewarding for me.”
“We got a lot of positive feedback last year from parents who brought children to the shows. They were not only pleased that the kids had something to do, but the quality of the model itself was very good,” said Campisano. “To see the families in there working on something together was great. This program gave everyone in the family a chance to enjoy the Super Chevy Show to its fullest.”
Lex Dudas, President of SCSW-Maple Grove Raceway stated, “I think the addition of the Make ‘N Take program to the 2010 schedule was one of the best things that we did last year. What we saw at Maple Grove Raceway, and other tracks across the circuit that had the Make ‘N Take program, was children of all ages becoming involved. They were coming to these Super Chevy events and walking out of the facility with their own take-home souvenir that they built with help from the model club.”
“Having Revell on board for 2011 is a great move and proves how family-oriented the Super Chevy Show series really is,” added Dudas.
The best news? It’s free! Kids of all ages can enjoy piecing together a model race car at any Super Chevy Show this year. Each child receives a Revell Snap Tite® plastic model kit that does not require paint or glue for easy assembly and even comes with press-on decals to finish the car. Model-building helpers will be available to assist in the assembly of each model. When complete, the model is yours to take home.
“The Make ‘N Take program has received enthusiastic responses from families who have participated. Not only does the program give kids something fun to do at the track, but it gets them interested in cars at a young age. The program takes about 20 minutes and assembly assistance is provided,” said Rick Haas, Marketing Director for Revell.
New to the set-up, participants will now receive a mail in rebate coupon for savings on future Revell model kit purchases at their local hobby store.
“This year we will be distributing a cash rebate coupon. When a participant attends an event and builds a model, they can then go home to their local hobby retailer, buy another model kit, submit the information to us and we can then send them a check,” added Haas
Revell Make ‘N Take activities will start at the season kick off in Palm Beach, April 8-11.
