Date Change for Auto Club Dragway NHRA Hot Rod Heritage Series Event

GLENDORA, Calif. (March 8, 2011) - The NHRA Hot Rod Heritage Series Sportsman Shootout event originally scheduled for April 16-17 at Auto Club Dragway at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California, has been moved to August 6-7, 2011.  This move will provide additional time for the completion of the sound wall being constructed at the facility.  The event  will now be the sixth of nine in the series and will follow the Nostalgia Reunion at Sacramento Raceway scheduled for July 15-16.  The new date will also make the  Auto Club Dragway event the final event for the series' Group 2 classes to earn points toward the 2011 NHRA Hot Rod Heritage Series Championship.

Auto Club Dragway will host a Test and Tune event on Friday, Aug. 5 for Hot Rod Heritage Series event participants, followed by qualifying and time trials for all classes on Saturday and elimination on Sunday.  Along with the Group 2 classes, the Group 1 classes including A/Fuel, Jr. Fuel, AA/Gas, and 7.0 Pro will compete at the event.  Racers will be competing for championship points, prize money and the coveted NHRA Wally trophy.

The second stop of the series if the famed March Meet at Auto Club Famoso Raceway, just north of Bakersfield, March 18-20.
