R&R Racing Products on board as contingency sponsor for 2010

Awards to be offered for each PMRA and Quick 32 Sportsman Series event

GRANT PARK, ILLINOIS (March 3, 2010) – The Pro Modified Racing Association and the Quick 32 Sportsman Series are pleased to announce the involvement of R&R Racing Products for the upcoming drag racing season as a contingency sponsor.
Home of the R&R Pro Connecting RodBased in Grant Park, Illinois, R&R Racing Products has a strong reputation in the development and manufacturing of performance engine racing parts.
R&R Racing Products will be providing contingency prizes of its product to both the winner and runner-up in each PMRA and Quick 32 Sportsman Series event for 2010.

“We’re very happy to have R&R Racing Products on board with us this season,” said Bruce Mehlenbacher, Director of Operations for both race series. “They have a solid reputation with their product, and many of our teams use their engine parts.”

Started in 1982 by Lester and Mike Riechers, R&R Racing Products started as a general automotive machine shop, but soon after it was building billet steel and aluminum connecting rods, where the name became synonymous with quality and dependability. Along with rods for racing applications, R&R Racing Products has built rods for many makes and vehicles over the years, including domestics such as Ford and General Motors, as well as imports such as Mercedes Benz, Jaguar, Porsche, Honda, and Toyota.

Former racers themselves, Mike Riechers competed during the 1980s, and in the early 1990s raced in the National Drag Boat Association, winning SLDBA, ADBA, and NDBA titles, as well as the national driver of the year in 1999.

With Mike’s wife Julie driving, the team campaigned in the IHRA Lenco Quick 8 Series, and also ran a supercharged Camaro Pro Modified.

“We have lots of people in your series running our stuff, so we thought we would step up our involvement,” noted Mike Riechers. Some PMRA teams that use R&R Racing Products include Mike Stawicki, Jason Kalso, the Grainy Brothers, Pete Farber, Adam Croker and Jay Santos.

R&R Racing Products also produces a wide range of billet dry sump oil pumps along with a full line of connecting rods. For more information, go to www.rrconnectingrods.com
