IRWINDALE DRAGSTRIP TO RE-OPEN THIS WEEK

Irwindale, Calif. - - NuWay Industries and Race Training, USA Inc. have announced the re-opening of the eighth-mile NHRA-sanctioned, street legal drag racing facility at Irwindale

The first Thursday night event is set for this Thursday, April 26.  Gates open at 4PM and the first "test and tune" session flags off at 5PM and run until 10PM.  Full concession services will be in operation at the Drag Strip.

The Irwindale track is a street-legal facility with strict safety rules and regulations, but it's also a place for people to blow off a little steam, and to have some fun with their cars and motorcycles under controlled conditions in front of a crowd of enthusiastic fans. Each car is given a full safety inspection before being allowed to run, and NHRA personal safety equipment requirements are rigidly enforced.

“We are extremely excited to have the Iwrindale Dragstrip reopen and applaud this group for all their efforts,” said Mike Rice, NHRA Pacific Division Director.  The facility is so important to the sport of drag racing here in Southern California and we’ll continue to work with them to ensure their success.”

As much a social occasion as a racing event ... at Irwindale friends meet to talk cars, watch some cool burnouts, maybe have a burger and soft drink and see who has the quickest car over the fast 660-foot racecourse. Racers pay $20 to put the pedal to the metal; spectators pay $10 to cheer 'em on ... And the pits are open to all!
