O'FALLON, MO (February 8, 2010) – Widely-regarded as one of the most popular and entertaining classes for up and coming drivers in drag racing, the American Drag Racing League (ADRL) has released enrollment info for the Pro Junior Dragster (PJD) class for the 2011 season.
PJD drivers will race at each of the 2011 ADRL races, as the nation's premier 1/8-mile drag racing series continues to be an ideal destination for the sport's future stars.
The 2011 ADRL Tour begins on March 25-26 with CarSafe Dragpalooza VII presented by LenMar Motorsports at Royal Purple Raceway in Baytown, Texas.
Due to the high demand in the competitive division, the ADRL has announced the following sign-up and 2011 procedures for interested participants in the PJD class.
- The fee for the 2011 season will be $250 per entry and all $250 will be applied to the purse. The fee is due in advance in order to secure a spot and must be paid via credit card on the day the participants sign up. The fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. There will be no exceptions made.
- There will be 16 PJD cars at each ADRL event. Once all 16 spots are filled, alternates will then be accepted. In the event that there is a cancellation, alternates will be contacted on a first-come, first-serve basis.
- It is mandatory that all PJD drivers are members of the ADRL. Anyone who needs to be at the starting line or have track access will also need to be an ADRL member. The car/driver will get one (1) free armband for restricted areas. All other armbands will need to be purchased at the regular rate.
- Sign-ups will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. CST on the following days and will be done in the following manner:
- On 2/14, those who plan on running the entire season may call and sign up
- On 2/15, those planning on running a minimum of 4 events may call and sign up
- On 2/16, Events 1 & 2 ONLY (Baytown, TX and Palm Beach, FL)
- On 2/17, Events 3 & 4 ONLY (Maple Grove, PA and Topeka, KS)
- On 2/18, Events 5 & 6 ONLY (Martin, MI and Petersburg, VA)
- On 2/21, events 7, 8 & 9 ONLY (Rockingham, NC, Norwalk, OH and Ennis, TX)
- Please be patient on the days you choose to sign up. Calls will be answered in the order they come in and no e-mails or faxes will be accepted. No messages will be returned to PJD drivers/teams on the day of sign-ups.
