The Quick 32 Sportsman Series top five for 2010 Scott Wildgust - Second Place

WARTBURG, ONTARIO (October 30, 2010) – Although he has driven several classes of drag cars, Scott Wildgust made the transition from door car to a dragster in fine fashion this season, placing second in the Quick 32 Sportsman Series presented by NAPA Auto Parts with 1176 points, only two points out of first place.
"We had a great year," said Wildgust, driver of the White and Wild Racing Top Dragster entry of himself and co-owner Bill White. "We had a great crew for the season, and Bill is a great partner."
The former PMRA Pro Modified driver campaigned a 1957 Chevy in the Quick 32 Sportsman Series in 2009, but Wildgust and White put together a Top Dragster that was a strong and consistent contender.
The White and Wild Racing Team qualified for all six events in the series, with a first round, second round, and three semi-final showings, but the season highlight was a win which came at the Grand Bend Motorplex in race two. This victory saw Wildgust win not only the Top Dragster class, but take the overall win against the winner of the Top Sportsman class in an event championship.
In the Quick 32 Sportsman Series, 16 Top Dragster cars race against each other, and 16 Top Sportsman or door-cars race against each other, with the top eliminator in each class going at it in the event final.
The White and Wild Racing car is a 2010 Mike Bos chassis powered by a 400-cubic inch small-block Chevy engine, with a Powerglide transmission hooked up to it. The fuel system is courtesy of ERD (Engine Research & Development), and a Kobelco supercharger sits atop the engine.
Wildgust said there are no major updates planned for the car for 2011, but added he believes the competition will be stronger in the Series.
"We want to thank my crew chief, John Weima, as well as Joe McCann, along with my Avery, Sienna and Stacey Wildgust," mentioned Wildgust, who hails from Southwestern Ontario and has been racing for close to 20 years. "We also want to thank Kirk and Maria Silbermann from Ajax Engines who helped us out with our engine program."
Wildgust also wanted to thank his team's sponsors, Stratford Automation, Bosco Pool and Spa, Ajax Engines and NGK Spark Plugs for their support during 2010.
The PMRA and Quick 32 Sportsman Series Championship Point Award Series winners will be honored at the "Night of Champions" on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at The Best Western Cairn Croft Hotel in Niagara Falls, Ontario.
