VENEY AND AUSTIN THRIVE AT ATCO
ATCO, N.J. (Oct. 18, 2010) – In the final results from Atco Raceway and the final Northeast Divisions NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, Mike Austin, Medford, Ore. and Todd Veney, Indianapolis, Ind. took home the wins in Top Alcohol Dragster and Top Alcohol Funny Car respectively.
Austin, worked his way through the field and ran 5.331 seconds at 268.12 mph in his final round victory over Mike Kosky, Cuddy, Pa., who clocked in at 5.317 seconds, 266.90 mph.
Veney faced off against John Anderika, Pittson, Pa. and posted a winning run of 5.785 seconds, 251.67 mph in his '09 Impala SS. Anderika drove to a 5.908 second, 238.89 mph lap for his runner up finish.
Also visiting the winner circle was New Jersey native Frank Aragona Jr. in Comp Eliminator. Aragona ran 8.113 second, 163.18 mph to secure the win against Kevin Robb, Denver, Pa.
Other racers visiting the winner’s circle this weekend Kent Hanley, Newtown, Conn., in Super Stock; Steve Spaulding, Mahwah, N.J., in Super Comp; Nick Reiter, Warminister, Pa., in Stock Eliminator; Matt Schurman, Green Brook, N.J.in Super Gas; and Bud McNasby, Hammonton, N.J., in Super Street.
