NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, Thunder Valley Raceway Park, Noble, Okla.

MOTHER NATURE STORMS INTO THUNDER VALLEY

NOBLE, Okla. – NHRA South Central division racers stormed into Thunder Valley Raceway Park today to kick off the weekend’s action for the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Thunder in the Heartland event. Unfortunately, so did Mother Nature with several different rain showers forcing NHRA and Track Officials to cancel the day’s racing action. The event is the final South Central Division event in the 2010 season where competitors will earn points toward both national and divisional championships.

Racing will begin on Saturday and will include a pair of Jet Dragsters as the Cannon Ball Express and the Chattanooga Choo-Choo come to Thunder Valley to face off in a head to head battle.

Gates open at 8 a.m. and racing begins at 9 a.m. Comp, Top Sportsman, and Top Dragster will make their qualifying runs at noon and 4 p.m. while Top Alcohol Dragster and Funny Car qualify at 1:30 and 5:30 p.m.

Sunday’s schedules gets under way at 9 a.m. with the eliminations. Top Alcohol Dragster and Top Alcohol Funny Car run first round at noon.
