Super Chevy Show Heads West

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (July 23) - It's time to head west for the Super Chevy Show.

The national touring series will conclude its 30th anniversary season with two of its final four races out west, the first scheduled for Friday, Aug. 20-Sunday, Aug. 22 at Bandimere Speedway near Denver, Colo. Then, following events in Houston and Bristol, Tenn. the season concludes at Firebird International Raceway near Phoenix on Friday, Oct. 22-Sunday, Oct. 24.

"We've been involved with Super Chevy Show for years," said racing personality Lucky Hudson, who will be at both events as a racer and sponsor, representing Currie Enterprises, with manufactures high-performance rearends. "There's a lot of excitement for the series with the new owners. We're a West-based company, so these two events are very important to us and our customers."

The Denver Super Chevy Show presented by Stevinson Chevrolet will be highlighted by a pro show that features the Six Second West Coast Outlaw Pro Mods, along with jet cars and a wheelstander. The weekend will also include sportsman racing, along with the popular Shoebox class; a car show and a vendor swap meet. There is also the Car Toys Aftershock Stage, which will provide round the clock entertainment.

The Phoenix Super Chevy Show, which will conclude the 10-race season, is one of the most-anticipated races on the tour, as this will be the Super Chevy Show's first visit to Firebird International Raceway in five seasons.

The highlights for the season finale will be the heroes of the Nostalgic Funny Car Show, who pay homage to drag racing's glory days while still providing some fantastic side-by-side competition. The show also will feature sportsman racing, the car show and vendor swap meet. An autocross is also scheduled at this event.
"The Phoenix race is going to be such a big draw," said Hudson, who in addition to representing Currie Enterprises will also be at the two races with his live online television show, Speed Scene Live. The show can be accessed via the Internet at speedsceneracing.com. "This (event) draws a lot of fans and racers from Texas and Southern California, in addition to the fans from Arizona. A lot of them came to the first race in Las Vegas, and are excited to come back.

"They are looking forward it and with the track recently resurfaced, it should be one of the top events of the season."
