Woodburn, Ore. (July 4) - The track was full of race cars on July 4th as competition was held in nine separate classes. Most impressive were the 9.012, 9.012, single, 9.002, 9.010, & 9.018 elapsed times by Al Salchenberger in six winning rounds of competition in Pro bracket. Just as phenomenal were the .012, .014, .012, .013, & .007 reaction times of Super Pro Winner, Roberta Van Scoyk. Former track champions, Kathy Figini and Eric Johns earned victories in Sportsman and Motorcycle, respectively. Additionally, top honors were earned by Travis Hilton, Michael Allen, Derrick Jackson, Michael Wargnier, and Carol Dent. July 3 - What a fun day it was, as racers came to play with the “Instant Green” starting system in play. Cars were divided into two classes, namely, “trans-brake” and “foot-brake.” The Trans-brake Class finals pitted brother vs. brother, with Travis Hilton as victor this time. The Foot-brake Class finals saw George Simpson in his AMC Pacer edging John Floyd, Jr.’s strong-running Nova. In addition, the Woodburn Dragstrip JDRL Series featured four first-time winners for 2010. Shane Cranford, Kacee Pitts, Boyd Eickmann, Jeffrey Taylor, Dallas Hill, and Jonathan Schoen earned the victories.
