Top Fuel Stars to Make Appearance, Bobsled Run at Utah Olympic Park June 17

Bruce Litton and Bobby Lagana Jr. trade fire for ice day before Salt Lake Nitro Jam

PARK CITY, Utah (June 10, 2010) – On Thursday, June 17 Top Fuel drivers Bobby Lagana Jr. and Bruce Litton will trade in their flame-spewing nitro dragsters for another form of extreme sport as the championship drivers make a pass down the Olympic bobsled course at the Utah Olympic Park just one day before traveling 320 mph down the quarter-mile at the Salt Lake Nitro Jam at Rocky Mountain Raceways in West Valley.

The Salt Lake Nitro Jam stars will visit the Utah Olympic Park at noon on Thursday, greeting fans and media before suiting up for a trip down the bobsled course. After reaching speeds of around 70 mph and experiencing up to 4 G’s of force on the bobsled track, media and guests will have the opportunity to meet with the drivers and check out Lagana’s Top Fuel machine which will be on display at the event.

Litton and Lagana are currently first and second in Top Fuel points. Litton is riding a three-race win streak entering the Salt Lake City event while Lagana has won twice. The two competitors have competed against one another for over a decade, but June 17 will mark the first time the duo have raced together as they try to tackle the tricky Olympic bobsled course.

Lagana and Litton will join drivers Del Cox Jr. and Spencer Massey as the headlining acts piloting the quickest and fastest racing machines on earth.

They will be joined by two additional nitro classes in Prostalgia Nitro Funny Car and Pro Fuel in addition to the debut of side-by-side jet trucks, Utah’s best sportsman racers, a huge fireworks display and more to be featured twice each night.

The drivers are scheduled to be on the bobsled track at noon with complete media and fan access at the start, finish dock and along the track (finish dock recommended for media). The dragster racers will then be in the Utah Olympic Park Plaza alongside Lagana’s race winning Top Fuel machine for a short time for interviews and to meet with guests.
