O'Reilly Auto Parts, Ron Craft Chevrolet of Baytown, Texas to sponsor Houston Raceway Park Super Chevy Show

BAYTOWN, Texas (June 26) -- It's been five years since the Super Chevy Show made an appearance at Houston Raceway Park.

That will change later this year when the touring series, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary, returns to Baytown thanks in part to  O'Reilly Auto Parts and Ron Craft Chevrolet of Baytown, who were announced as presented by sponsors for the event this week.

O'Reilly Auto Parts is one of the top auto parts retailers in the country. It has grown from a regional base in Southwest Missouri to a national corporation that includes 3,469 stores covering 38 states. Ron Craft Chevrolet is one of the top Chevrolet dealerships in the Houston area, and the number one selling dealership in Baytown, celebrating its 30th year in Baytown and 2009 winner of the prestigious General Motors Mark of Excellence Award. The dealership features world class customer service and sales of new and pre-owned Chevrolets.

The Houston Raceway Park Super Chevy Show presented by O'Reilly Auto Parts and Ron Craft Chevrolet will be the eighth event of the 10-event season and will be held Saturday, Sept. 11-Sunday, Sept. 12.

"To celebrate the 30th anniversary tour of the Super Chevy Show Series at Houston Raceway Park after a five-year absence is exciting for not only our facility, our staff, and our sponsors, but for the thousands of race fans and Chevy enthusiasts who visit our Park each and every week," said Seth Angel, Houston Raceway Park general manager. “There is nothing more American than a Chevrolet, so you can bet that the Super Chevy Show presented by O’Reilly Auto Parts and Ron Craft Chevrolet will be a celebration of American culture.”

The HRP Super Chevy Show is expected to be one of the best events of the season, with both sportsman and pro show drag racing, a top-flight car show, an  Autocross, a car corral, swap meet and vendor midway areas.

The celebration kicks off for Car Show participants on Saturday, Sept. 11 with the Super Chevy Show Cruise from Ron Craft Chevrolet . It will proceed 20 miles through downtown Baytown and end at the track. Participants of the cruise will receive a fast pass into HRP to set up for the weekend.  This will be the third cruise to a Super Chevy Show this season. The previous two were quite successful leading into events at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in March and the Texas Motorplex near Dallas in May.

The drag racing portion of the HRP Super Chevy Show will feature competition in both bracket racing and junior dragsters. The pro show will feature Rich Hanna's First Strike Jet Funny Car, Ken Hall's Top Secret Jet Fully Car and Bob Hall's "Airborne Express" Wheel Stander.

As part of the sponsorship deal, discounted tickets will be available at all O’Reilly Auto Parts stores in the Houston area as well as at Ron Craft Chevrolet in Baytown.

Houston Raceway Park is also announcing that La Quinta Inn & Suites Houston Baytown East is the official hotel of the HRP Super Chevy Show presented by  O'Reilly  Auto Parts and Ron Craft Chevrolet.
