Competition Tire returns to PMRA and Quick 32 Sportsman Series for 2010 season

Niagara-based Goodyear distributor offers contingency awards for Series

CAYUGA, ONTARIO (June 3, 2010)  – The Pro Modified Racing Association and the Quick 32 Sportsman Series is pleased to have Competition Tire Canada return as one of the contingency award sponsors for the 2010 racing season.
As one of Canada's top auto racing tire suppliers, Competition Tire, based in Niagara-On-The-Lake, Ontario, has not only supplied tires for drag racing, oval track, and road circuit competition, it has also provided on-track support for many years, and tire experts are always on hand at race events to help its Goodyear Tire customers.
Competition Tire was started by the late Doug Fairchild, who worked with Goodyear in the 1960s and then stepped up to the international auto racing stage as part of the company's Formula One effort. After a session working for Roger Penske, Fairchild returned to Canada to begin Competition Tire in 1985 and became Goodyear's official race tire distributor at a national level.
Fairchild was honored by his peers in 2010 for his commitment to the racing world with his induction into the Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame.
Presently, Competition Tire provides contingency awards to PMRA and Quick 32 Sportsman Series competitors who race with Goodyear tires on their cars.
"I have known the Fairchilds and worked with them for many years," stated PMRA Director of Operations Bruce Mehlenbacher. "They are a hard-working, committed group that has helped the PMRA excel over its lifetime, and we are grateful to their involvement."
Competition Tire provides a full range of Goodyear drag racing tires. Goodyear has been involved with auto racing for close to 100 years, and has the experience, knowledge, and development to be on the cutting edge in racing tire technology.
