NHRA UNLEASHED ENTERS INTO AGREEMENT WITH OUTLAW RACING STREET CAR ASSOCIATION

GLENDORA, Calif. (May 5, 2010) — NHRA has entered into an agreement with the Outlaw Racing Street Car Association (ORSCA), to assist NHRA with racing operations at the upcoming NHRA Unleashed events.
Along with Disrupt/tive Studios, which will work on the broadcast elements of the event, NHRA has created a formidable team designed to celebrate the American muscle car and the passionate world of NHRA grassroots racing.
ORSCA, which was founded in 2004, will promote the NHRA Unleashed events through their network of racers, and also assist NHRA in facilitating the outlaw race classes designated to compete in NHRA Unleashed.   The outlaw classes scheduled to compete at the four NHRA Unleashed events are Outlaw 10.5, Limited Street, EZ Street and Modified Street.
“We are very excited to be involved with NHRA Unleashed,” said Johnny Fenn, president, ORSCA.  “NHRA Unleashed will bring our type of heads-up racing to fans, both at the events and at home on Fox Sports Net, who may have never been able to experience the ‘outlaw style of drag racing.’ It also gives our racers the opportunity to compete for the coveted Wally® Trophy and I want to encourage all the racers of ORSCA, as well as racers all over the country, to take advantage of this great opportunity to be a part of NHRA Unleashed.”
Earlier this year, NHRA announced a relationship with Disrupt/tive Studios, led by Jack Schaeffer and Stephen Pullin, who have produced the popular PINKS™, PINKS ALL-OUT™ and PINKS ALL OUTTAKES™ shows.   The Disrup/tive Studios team will document every aspect of the NHRA Unleashed events to highlight the excitement and lifestyle of NHRA competitors and fans.  The events will be broadcast on eight consecutive weeks on Fox Sports Net in November and December 2010.
The NHRA Unleashed events are scheduled at Atlanta Dragway in Commerce, Ga. (June 11-13), O’Reilly Raceway Park at Indianapolis (Aug. 6-8), National Trail Raceway near Columbus, Ohio (Sept. 10-12) and Gainesville Raceway in Gainesville, Fla. (Nov. 5-7).  To learn more about the upcoming NHRA Unleashed events including car entries and tickets log on to: www.nhra.com/multimedia/unleashed.aspx.
