AHRA Launches 2010 Season with Texas Two Step

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. (April 19, 2010) - The month of May marks the monumental return of the American Hot Rod Association with two blowout events planned in the Lone Star State of Texas. Event tickets and competition pre-entries for the historic events are now available at www.AHRAdragracing.com.

Igniting the explosive action is the first-ever AHRA Nitro Showdown in Midland on May 15-16 at the new Desert Thunder Raceway, bringing a display of Top Fuel, Pro Mod, Nitro Nostalgia cars and Jet Cars along with hundreds of sportsmen racers to the vast oil fields of northwest Texas.

The following weekend, May 22-23, in San Antonio, the 2010 AHRA Reunion Tour launches at AHRA-sanctioned San Antonio Raceway, featuring a field of more than a dozen 8,000 horsepower nitro methane- powered Top Fuel Dragsters led by 2009 NHRA Rookie of the Year Spencer Massey.

In all, 50 Pro cars and hundreds of sportsmen racers will compete at San Antonio for more than $235,000 in purses and prizes at the inaugural AHRA event.

Supporting AHRA's dedication to providing high-octane family entertainment at an affordable price, family-friendly discount ticket packages and military discounts are available for Sunday at the San Antonio event and can be purchased online at AHRADragRacing.com.

Series officials are also pleased to announce the liberal senior's program that includes discounts for fans over 60, and free admission to fans 70 and over at all AHRA events.
