Champion Raceway to Host NHRA Northwest Division Final

GLENDORA, Calif. (March 9, 2010) - Champion Raceway, Medford, Ore., will once again host the final event in the 2010 NHRA Northwest Division Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series. The event is the fifth of five in the division and is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, September 25 and 26. The track will also host a test and tune on Friday, September 24. NHRA and track officials plan to release a complete schedule in the coming weeks.

The event will include eleven classes of racers including the 260 mph Top Alcohol Dragsters and Funny Cars as well as wheel standing Super Stocks, the Sportsman Motorcycle Series presented by Harley Davidson and the division’s Top Sportsman and Top Dragster classes.

The track has been hosting the event continuously since 2000 marking this the 10th year in a row for the event. 2009 event winners included local racer Brian Hough of Junction City, Ore., in Top Alcohol Funny Car and Vancouver, Wash., racer Doug Hegge in Top Alcohol Dragster. Both Hough and Hegge along with hundreds of competitors are expected to return for this year’s event.
