PINE RIVER, ONTARIO (October 25, 2011) – Consistency and a solid effort allowed Grubb Racing to finish fourth in the Quick 32 Sportsman Series presented by NAPA Auto Parts Championship Point Award Series Standings for 2011.

"This has been a great year. We are very happy," said team driver Darrin Grubb, who pilots the team's 2004 Chevy Cavalier in the Quick 32 Sportsman Series Top Sportsman division. "We were fortunate, as everything worked as advertised."

The Cavalier received a new engine for 2011, a 706-cubic inch Par Racing engine, which ran well right from the start of the six-race season. The Chris Duncan Race Cars product also houses a Powerglide transmission courtesy of Hutch's Transmissions, and a fuel system from Rupert's Racing Products.

The team is headed up by Darrin's brother Marvin Grubb. Mike Dennis is the team's crew chief, and Barb Grubb is also an integral part of the team.

The car qualified for each event this year, always in the top-ten of the 16-car Top Sportsman field. There were a couple of first-round losses, a second-round loss, and two quarter-final rounds, but it all came together at event two of the year when Grubb won not only the Top Sportsman final eliminator, he captured the event win over the Top Dragster of Michael Hinbest of Orangeville, Ontario.

"Consistency is very important to us," Grubb noted over their success. "We like to go fast but not go too fast."

Sponsorship includes Marvin's Automotive Service Ltd., Pennzoil, Hutch's Transmission Service, Ideal Supply, Chris Duncan Race Cars, Foris Signs and Par Racing Engines.

Grubb also said the level or racing has become intense over the past two seasons.

"You have to be perfect every time," he said about the competition. "Everyone has stepped up their game plans. The fields are getting quick. Seems that it wasn't that long ago that Pro Stocks were running what we are now."

Racing for 15 years now, Grubb said the Quick 32 Sportsman Series is ideal for the team's racing endeavors.

"This has been an awesome series," he said. "We are happy to be a part of it."

The Annual "Night of Champions" Championship Point Award Series Banquet for the Pro Modified Racing Association (PMRA), the Quick 32 Sportsman Series and the Pro Bike & Sled Series (PBSS) will be held at the Burlington Hotel & Conference Centre in Burlington, Ontario on Saturday, November 19, 2011.
