The Quick 32 Sportsman Series Top Five for 2011 - Top Dragster driver Billy White - Number Five

WARTBURG, ONTARIO (October 18, 2011) – Considering he had never been in a dragster until earlier this year, Billy White did an admirable job in 2011 Quick 32 Sportsman Series competition, piloting his RE/MAX Top Dragster to a fifth place in the Quick 32 Sportsman Series presented by NAPA Auto Parts Championship Point Award Series Standings.

As co-owner and team driver of the White and Wild Racing Team, White had the fortune of learning how to drive from team member Scott Wildgust, one of the veteran racers in the Series.

"This has been an enjoyable year for me," noted White, who placed fifth in the season with 1122 points. "I had never driven anything faster than a street car before I got into the dragster. I have to thank Scott for his teaching and guidance."

After acquiring his driving license, White qualified number five at the season's first event, no small feat in a field of strong competition.

White qualified for all Quick 32 Sportsman Series events, and although he was a first-round loser in the first two races, he got it all together for round three at Cayuga and was the winner on the Top Dragster division, losing the event title to Top Sportsman driver Bob Bauer Jr.

He was out the first round in the next race, but settled in and took a semi-final in the fifth race and finished the year with a quarter-final at the season closer.

White's RE/MAX Top Dragster is based on a 2011 Mike Bos dragster, and an Ajax Engines supercharged small-block Chevy engine is used for power. An ERD (Engine Research & Development) fuel system sits on top of the Chevy, and a Powerglide gets the power to the rear wheels.

John Weima is crew chief on the team, which also includes Joe McCann, Morgan Henderson, Dan Achilles and Jack Switzer. Sponsorship is provided by RE/MAX A-B Realty in Stratford, Stratford Automation, Bosco Pool and Spa, Ajax Engines, Jeremy Bach Concrete, Mitchell Cycle and NGK Spark Plugs.

"I want to thank my crew for all their help and support this year," said White. "I could not have done any of this without them. I also want to thank our sponsors; they also have been very supportive."

The Annual "Night of Champions" Championship Point Award Series Banquet for the Pro Modified Racing Association (PMRA), the Quick 32 Sportsman Series and the Pro Bike & Sled Series (PBSS) will be held at the Burlington Hotel & Conference Centre in Burlington, Ontario on Saturday, November 19, 2011.
