Atco Raceway celebrated its 50'th year in style! They had 50 cars come out to put on a excellent show! They had a little of everything, jet dragsters, jet funny cars, wheelstanders, NHRA top alky cars, nitro nostalgia funny cars, alky nostalgia funny cars, the East Coast Gassers, Pro Mods and a ton more. The weather cooperated with just a little rain earlier on, but the humidity and heat was typical south Jersey! We had our Screamin Eagle funny car there to match race the very pretty and very quick Marie Ferrilo. Her Dad, Barry is a long time NHRA Division one racer, and they are a tough team to beat. Our Screamin Eagle has been struggling pretty much all year. We started the season out with a new clutch combo and the car did not like it at all, we finally changed it back to a ten inch three disc that we ran last season, but for some reason, we seemed to have lost three tenths. Normally we run 6.60's in the heat and 6.30's in the cool weather, but this year we seemed stuck in the 6.80's. This past week, we took the car completely apart and went through everything. Found a couple small problems and put it back together hoping for the best. We we're rewarded for efforts with a out of the box 6.47 at 217 mph.... Very good numbers for us in the heat! The fans probably enjoyed our half track burnout more than the nice numbers, but for my crew and I, it was nice to see all the hard work pay off..... Next outting for our traveling circus act is Beaver Springs Pa,, this friday night...we'll have the Big Time Memories 41 Willys match racing!
