Race procedure.
Racers will qualify based on reaction time in a separate time trial session from the rest of the classes. You will not make the first time trial session with your group, but with a separate ARP Race of Champions group. We will complete the event during the day’s events, so please listen carefully to the radio/PA for the ARP Race of Champions call to the lanes. We will not be able to wait if racers are not there! Event will compete with a sportsman tree, and qualifying will be by best reaction time. Only one time trial and then first round of eliminations. No cross talk.

In the 2nd annual SCEDA Series year-end Race of Champions, it was John Joines taking the victory over Ryan Mangus, making the No-E cars the winners going 2 for 2 during the history of Race of Champions. To earn the win, John Joines had the better reaction time and broke out by less in the double breakout affair to take the $1600 winner take all victory. Congratulations to both John Joines on his win and to Ryan Mangus for getting to the final round.
To qualify for this event, participants had to win a race in either Electronics or No E during the 2009 season and there was no SCEDA entry fee. The Race of Champions qualifiers for 2009 were; Ryan Priddy, Charlie Boyd, Jeff Interlicchia, Rhobert Strong, Scott Joines, Sam Boyd, John Joines, Don Gatlin, Dwayne Eastridge, Brian Fischle, Ryan Mangus, Andrew Madrid, Dick Krieger, Dave Meziere, Val Torres Jr., and David Maynor.
In the semi-finals, the first matchup was an all Joines affair with John defeating brother, Scott. Scott had the better reaction time, but John ran a 14.242 on his 14.24 dial to take the win. In the other semi-final, Ryan Mangus defeated David Maynor. Maynor had the better reaction time, but broke out by more in another double breakout. This set the stage for the final. As a point of interest, none of the Electronics cars advanced past the second round when John Joines defeated the last of the Electronic cars standing, which was Rob Strong, insuring another No-E Winner. A special thanks to Pacific High Reach for helping SCEDA to put on this outstanding event and congratulations to all the participants and especially John Joines on taking the win. By winning John qualified himself for the 2010 shootout event as well.
