Snooky's to recognize Prostalgia 'Burnout Kings' at Nitro Jam events in 2010
IHRA's newest class a hit with fans
NORWALK, Ohio (February 19, 2010) –After an incredibly successful debut at Palm Beach International Raceway last month the IHRA's newest and most exciting professional class Prostalgia Nitro Funny Car has announced that it will up the ante for race fans the rest of the season with the announcement of the Snooky's Burnout King contest at all Nitro Jam events in 2010.
Known for quarter-mile burnouts and incredible side-by-side racing the Prostalgia Nitro Funny Car class will have extra incentive to put on a wild show for the fans with the announcement of the new Burnout King contest rewarding the longest and most exciting burnout of the night at each Nitro Jam event the rest of this season.
Prostalgia Nitro Funny Car offers thrilling racing and insane burnouts.
"I am thrilled that Snooky's has come on board to offer such a cool deal for the drivers and, most importantly, for the fans." said John Dunn, driver of the Dunn & Gone '73 Duster. "This will really turn our class's already spectacular burnouts into a competition all its own."
Dennis Frymoyer, owner of Snooky's Drag Racing and Hot Rodding Apparel, has always been a fan of the sport and with the addition of the new Prostalgia Nitro Funny Car class he says that now is perfect time to become a part of the fastest growing drag racing entertainment show in the country.
"I met John Dunn at a race in Indy. My grandson, Clayton, said he was his favorite driver so John put him into the car and made his day. From then on we have been hooked," said Frymoyer. "When John approached us about sponsoring the Burnout King award we jumped at the chance. Our business is centered around vintage hot rod apparel and we attend numerous events, but we love events that have nostalgia racing so this was an obvious choice for us."
Drivers in the Prostalgia Nitro Funny Car class will be competing for the title of Burnout King and a limited edition Burnout King jacket in addition to a cash prize. One lucky fan will be picked to judge the burnouts during Saturday's opening round of competition with a winner being named shortly before the second professional rounds.
"We are excited to be a part of the new IHRA format. Our family will attend a few events this year. I just want to thank John for giving us this opportunity and we are looking forward to being a part of these events," said Frymoyer.
