NORWALK, Ohio (June 8) -- Two of Pro Modified racing's staunchest supporters -- Stan and Scott Ray of Ohio Crankshaft -- will add some extra support to the Get Screened America Pro Mod Drag Racing Series in their home state of Ohio when the NHRA tour holds its annual national event in Norwalk on the weekend of June 24-27.
The Get Screened America Pro Mod Drag Racing Series featuring Ohio Crankshaft is sure to be a big part of the fourth annual Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals. Unlike year's past when Pro Mod was run strictly as an exhibition race, the category gained designation as an official NHRA class this past offseason, meaning that for the first time ever Pro Mod racers are battling for a coveted Wally trophy, the longtime symbol of excellence in NHRA drag racing.
"Racers like Stan and Scott Ray represent the foundation this sport was built on," said Roger Burgess, the man behind the Get Screened America Pro Mod Drag Racing Series. "Being in Ohio, this is obviously a big race for them and Ohio Crankshaft and we consider it an honor to banner their name at this event."
Stan and Scott Ray, a father and son duo from Greenville, Ohio, have supported NHRA Pro Mod racing since its inception a decade ago, as has Ohio Crankshaft. They field a competitive '53 Chevy, tuned by Stan and driven by Scott.
The Get Screened America Pro Mod Drag Racing Series featuring Ohio Crankshaft will conduct three qualifying sessions at 4 and 6:30 CDT Friday, June 25, and 11 a.m. Saturday, June 26. Eliminations begin at 4:15 p.m. Saturday with Round 1 action, and continue Sunday, June 27, with the final three rounds.
