TORONTO, ONTARIO (January 18, 2011) – Drag racing will be a big component of the upcoming Canadian Motorsports Expo, and the Pro Modified Racing Association will be well-represented with the Roth Racing 1941 Willys Pro Modified.
The Willys will be part of the CME's "Quarter Mile Corral" organized by prominent drag racing photographer and journalist Bruce Biegler and DragRaceCanada.com
Other quarter-mile machines to be displayed include Mark Martino's NHRA Pro Stock car, the KonRodz Funny Car of Spiro Kontos, and Gus Mantas' NHRA Barracuda Super Stock.
Based in Kitchener, Ontario, the Roth Pro Modified, owned by Jim Roth and driven by son Jeff Roth, placed seventh in the 2010 Pro Modified Racing Association Championship Point Award Series presented by Magnum Auto Parts and Patio Passport, qualifying in the top five in several PMRA events, along with two semi-finals. In 2009 the team placed third in points, highlighted with an event victory at the Grand Bend Motorplex in September of that year.
The Willys is powered by a 526-cubic inch engine with a state-of-the-art screw-type supercharger which is capable of runs in the six-second range and speeds up to 240 mph.
The fifth Canadian Motorsports Expo runs January 21-23 at Toronto's International Center. For show times and admission prices, go to www.canadianmotorsportsexpo.com
