ADRL Releases New Rainout Policy To Go Into Effect For 2011 Tour

O'FALLON, MO (January 26, 2011) – The American Drag Racing League (ADRL) has announced that it will implement a new rainout policy, which will go in effect with the first race of the 2011 season.

Adverse weather conditions are an unfortunate hardship on all involved in the sport and the ADRL appreciates the continued cooperation and support of all participants, tracks, sponsors and fans during the implementation of this new policy

In the event of rain or other adverse conditions that delay or cause an event cancellation, the following new policies will now go into effect:

• If two or more rounds of qualifying have been completed but eliminations are unable to begin, then 100 points plus qualifying points will be awarded to the top 16 qualifiers in each class, and the event will be considered complete.

• If two qualifying sessions are unable to be completed and no elimination rounds are completed, the event will be considered canceled. All racers with an event tech card will receive 25 points for participation.

• If any elimination rounds are completed prior to an event being declared a rainout, points and payouts will be awarded to that point in the contest under the normal system and the event will be declared complete.

All qualifying points and payouts from the LenMar Motorsports ADRL World Finals VI, which took place at Texas Motorplex in Ennis, Texas on October 22-23, 2010, will be awarded under this new system and the race is considered to be officially completed.

Payouts from the World Finals in Ennis will be available at the first race of the 2011 season, which takes place March 25-26 at Royal Purple Raceway in Baytown, Texas. All 16 qualifiers in each class will receive qualifying payout plus 100 points and qualifying points. Additionally, all participants with a tech card will receive 25 participation points. For this event only – the ADRL will pay qualifying money even though no elimination rounds had been completed as stated in the new policy.

The ADRL will continue its policy of not racing on Sundays and in no case will an event be carried over or completed at a later date.
