AHRA TAKES OVER LOUISIANA TRACK
December 8th, 2009 2:15 P.M. PST
The American Hot Rod Association is pleased to
announce that it has entered into a multi-year
agreement, effective January 1, 2010, to take over all
operations of Thunder Road Raceway Park. Thunder Road
is located in Gilliam Louisiana, 18 miles north of
Shreveport. "This will be the mother ship of
re-establishing the AHRA in the South; once known as
strong AHRA country for many decades" stated Troy Moe,
Chief Executive Officer of AHRA. Moe said AHRA will
be redesigning the Sportsmen programs as well as
hosting multiple major spectator events at the
facility. AHRA will be making an announcement shortly
as to the appointment of its new General Manager of
the facility. "We look forward to developing our
Sportsmen friendly programs by sanctioning additional
tracks in the Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas and Oklahoma
markets" stated Moe. AHRA will be announcing a
"Reunion Tour" date for the facility in the coming
days. AHRA class rules will be posted on its web-site
the week of December 13, 2009. "We are extremely
excited to have Thunder Road on board in this
capacity. This long term agreement will allow us to
develop a strong relationship with the sportsmen
racers, which is one of the primary objectives of our

QUAKER CITY OHIO JOINS AHRA
December 8th, 2009 2:15 P.M. PST
Quaker City Raceway, located in Salem, Ohio, has
reached an agreement with the American Hot Rod
Association to become the first AHRA member track in
Ohio.  "We are excited to have the experience of Dan
Swindell, owner of Quaker City said Tom Kreager VP of
Operations for AHRA.  Kreager also commented Quaker
City will help AHRA expand it's presence in the mid
west.  In addition to joining the AHRA family, Quaker
City Raceway will host a Reunion Tour event during the
2010 season, a date will be announced shortly. Quaker
City Raceway is approximately a 200 acre facility
located just north of Salem, Ohio.  Large pit area, 3
story tower, concrete launch pads, concrete walls and
great customer service are just a few reasons to
attend events hosted by Dan Swindell.  For more

CALGARY SIGNS ON WITH AHRA
December 8th, 2009 2:15 P.M. PST
The American Hot Rod Association is pleased to
announce the sanctioning of Race City Motorsports Park
in Calgary Alberta . "We are extremely pleased that
Art MacKenzie and Race City Motorsports Park have
joined the AHRA family" stated Brad Janishewski Vice
President and Director of Canada Operations. "Race
City has been a pillar in Western Canada for years. We
are not only looking forward to the return of Nitro
Powered cars in Calgary at the reunion tour but also a
strong commitment to the western Canada Sportsmen
Series" stated Janishewski. AHRA will be hosting a
"Reunion Tour " Nitro race as well as multiple
Sportsmen races of which the dates will be announced
in the coming days.
