Forrest Lucas, John Force and Ashley Force Hood are also featured speakers
GLENDORA, Calif. (Dec. 1, 2009) — Several members of the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series community, including President Tom Compton, will be featured prominently over the next two days at the 10th annual Motorsports Marketing Forum presented by Street & Smith’s SportsBusiness Journal.
The two-day event, which is being held at the Planet Hollywood Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, includes eight panels/interviews today and three more tomorrow.
Compton was part of the opening panel discussion today entitled “State of Motorsports: A Year of Change.” The panel included NASCAR CMO Steve Phelps, Las Vegas Motor Speedway President and GM Chris Powell, IMS and Indy Racing League President and CEO Jeffrey Belskus, and Feld Entertainment COO Ken Hudgens.
In the day’s “Featured Interview” at 4:30 p.m. PT, entitled “The Forces, a Dynamic Duo in the NHRA,” John Force and Ashley Force Hood will discuss their plans for the future of Force Racing and how they work together to engage their fan-base and promote NHRA.
Just preceding the Force’s introduction, a host of NHRA sponsors will be on the stage for a panel entitled “Investing and Activating in Motorsports.” The panel includes Forest Lucas, owner of Lucas Oil; Ben Reiling, Director, Motorsports Marketing, Coca-Cola North America; Tom Tiernan, Chief of Outreach & Events, U.S. Army; and Eric Vaden, Motorcycle & Powersports Marketing, Geico.
The Forum continues Wednesday with three more panels including one entitled “What will Racing Look Like in 10 Years?” Among the panelists is Tom Knox, VP of Business Development at NHRA’s strategic marketing partner IMG.
