THE FRATERNITY RETURNS TO YORK

YORK, PA – Forty three years ago the world famous York US 30 Drag-O-Way played before many outstanding crowds who came to witness the best drag racing events to be presented and setting the stage of many lines in the history books of motorsports.

The heritage is relived the second full weekend of July every year at the York Fairgrounds, York Expo Center falling this year as a 12th Annual Musclecar Madness at the York Reunion on July 12-13, 2013.

The event has the largest attendance of legends of the sport at one time than any other event in this great country also appearing with the gallant legendary steeds that carried them to many firsts and records to the awe of the drag racing nation.

The York event will have a race simulator that attendees can vie for top speed on both Friday and Saturday. The winner each day will receive two tickets to the 10th Annual York Nostalgia Nationals at Beaver Springs Dragway on Sunday, July 14th. A portion of all proceeds will be donated to the York County SPCA.

The event features a Salute to Ford with the Ford Fairlane Club of America presenting a display on the West Plaza on Friday. The new Frantic Ford funny car will debut at York and join Jim Barillaro's Jack Chrisman GT-1 Comets, along with Don Nicholson's '70 Maverick Pro Stock that put Ford back into the thick of the Pro Stock wars. Al Joniec's Mustang and Arlen Fadely's Super Stock magazine Maverick will also grace the halls.

The legends themselves will be there en masse. Bruce Larson, Hubert Platt, Phil Bonner, Arlen Fadely, Arlen Vanke, Jim Walther, Ed Hedrick, Larry Lombardo, Bud Faubel, Wally Bell, Al Joniec, Jack Redd, Jere Stahl, Bob Harrop, Ed Miller, Jim & Alison Lee, Jerry Baltes, and the list goes on. A special tribute to Ken Montgomery will be presented at 2 p.m. on Saturday.

The show hours are Friday, July 12th 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Admission is $15.00, children 12 and under free, active military FREE with i.d. along with free parking.

Action shifts to Beaver Springs Dragway on Sunday, July 14th where many of the legends make a pass to the delight of the crowd. Activities begin a 8 a.m.
