ADRL Releases Official Schedule For Three-Day LenMar Motorsports World Finals VII

O'FALLON, MO (September 27, 2011) – The American Drag Racing League (ADRL) announced the official schedule for the LenMar Motorsports ADRL World Finals VII on Wednesday, as the event continues to shape up as one of the biggest events in ADRL history.

The 2011 season-ending race will take place Friday through Sunday, Oct. 21-23 at Texas Motorplex in Ennis, Texas, and the weekend is already chocked full of storylines. In addition to the individual event, the "Battle For The Belts," featuring the top eight competitors in six classes, will be the featured event on Saturday, and world championships will be officially awarded on Sunday to the points champion in Pro Extreme, Pro Nitrous, Extreme 10.5, Pro Extreme Motorcycle, Extreme Pro Stock and Pro Junior Dragster.

The Fourth Annual Racer Appreciation and Awards Gala also takes place on Oct. 23.

"The ADRL World Finals weekend has become such a fantastic event, with three competitions going on simultaneously, and these three days will give fans and teams so many unforgettable moments," ADRL Executive Vice President Jeff Fortune said.

"By adding the gala after the race, we now will all have a chance to celebrate the incredible 2011 ADRL season together and give each champion the spotlight they so richly deserve. The entire weekend will truly be a tremendous thrill."

On Oct. 21, the racing begins at 3:30 p.m. local time with a test session for all classes.

There will be one qualifying session on Friday, starting at 7 p.m. with the Police Interceptor jet car and Summit Bigfoot Monster Truck to follow, setting the stage for the incredible events slated for Saturday and Sunday.

The following day, Oct. 22, the "Battle For The Belts" shootout will take place at the track and that single-day shootout features the top eight competitors in six classes gunning for a championship belt.

Racing action starts on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the second qualifying session for the World Finals. The No. 7 versus No. 8 BFTB matchups follow that, with the first round of eliminations for the BFTB scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.

The semifinals of the BFTB will take place between the third and fourth qualifying session for the World Finals, with the final qualifying session set to run at 7 p.m.

Final eliminations for the BFTB will begin at 10 p.m., with shootout winners being awarded in Pro Extreme, Pro Nitrous, Extreme 10.5, Pro Extreme Motorcycle, Extreme Pro Stock and Pro Junior Dragster.

The event continues at 11 a.m. on Sunday with the first round of eliminations for the World Finals. With world championship implications in numerous classes, the racing will be intense and action-packed throughout eliminations.

Final eliminations will begin at 4:30 p.m., with event winners and world champions to be officially crowned following the event.

The championship presentation will come later that night at the Racer Appreciation and Awards Gala, which takes place from 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the spacious Champions Club at Texas Motorplex.

Tickets for the marquee event are $35 and are currently available by calling the ADRL office at 1-855-277-ADRL (2375).

In addition to the championship presentation, the ADRL will also announce and award its 2011 Competitor of the Year, Rookie of the Year, Track of the Year and Spirit of the Year.

"With everything that is on the line over these three days, it should be one of the finest weekends in ADRL history," ADRL Director of Competition Tom Grooms said. "This will be the perfect stage for these amazing competitors to finish out the season in tremendous fashion.

"To that end, this is such an important event, if we have to race on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or even Friday the following week due to weather, we will make sure we get this race completed."
