Drag Racing with American Red Cross

Richmond, VA - CarSafe Motorsports has announced a partnership with the Richmond, Virginia Chapter of the American Red Cross. Join fans August 13 -14 at Virginia Motorsports Park in Petersburg, VA for the Speedtech U.S. Drags IV. This event marks the sixth of nine national events this year for the American Drag Racing League (ADRL).

CarSafe, a St Louis, MO based company offers extended service agreements on vehicles after original factory warranties expire. CarSafe utilizes motorsports as a way to connect with its customers. By teaming up with the American Red Cross, CarSafe has been able to tie in the love for motorsports and raise donations for the Virginian community.

CarSafe Motorsports competitors Extreme Pro Stock driver, Richie Stevens Jr and Kim Morrell, 2010 World Champion will be present for fans to sign autographs and collect additional donations for the American Red Cross. Through winning drivers and winning attitudes, CarSafe has been able to collect over $7,700 for American Red Cross Chapters.

The American Red Cross depends on financial donations to help in times of disaster, both in the United States and around the world. Those who want to help can make a donation while attending the Speedtech US Drags IV.

Created exclusively for the 2011 ADRL Tour, race fans will be able to interact near CarSafe's newly wrapped, Ford Mustang Race Car. Richie Stevens Jr's 2010 Pro Stock Mustang will have the Red Cross logo prominently displayed, as will Kim Morrell's pro extreme motorcycle. The CarSafe Motorsports team uniforms have also been enhanced to represent the ongoing efforts of the Red Cross.

CarSafe Motorsports is working towards a total fundraising goal of $20,000 this season. Team owner Mark Eckman tells The Capital Journal, "We wanted to raise awareness and let people know the Red Cross is there all the time."

Bring your friends and family to enjoy the world's premier eighth-mile drag racing league as it returns to Virginia Motorsports Park in Petersburg, VA. The Raceway opens at 10 a.m. on Friday and Saturday with the first round of qualifying set to begin at 12 p.m. On Saturday, the racing will begin at 12 p.m. with the final qualifying session. The first round of eliminations starts at 3 p.m., with an action-packed jet-car and monster truck pass concluding the evening on Friday and Saturday. Coverage begins at 8:30 p.m. Eastern Saturday, with live audio coverage and live timing and scoring featured on ARCARacing.com.
