LYNCH AND FISCUS WIN SEASON-OPENING RACE OF THE AEROSPACE COMPONENTS NHRA UNLEASHED AT SOUTH GEORGIA MOTORSPORTS PARK

LYNCH WINS SEASON OPENER IN MOROSO PERFORMANCE PRODUCTS OUTLAW 10.5; FISCUS TAKES LIMITED STREET WIN AT SOUTH GEORGIA MOTORSPORTS PARK

GLENDORA, Calif. (May 10, 2011) — Nine racers celebrated in the winner’s circle this weekend at the season-opening race of the Aerospace Components NHRA Unleashed series for 2011 at South Georgia Motorsports Park. Tim Lynch of Woodstock, Ga. won the Moroso Performance Products Outlaw 10.5 class and Jax, Fla.’s Kevin Fiscus claimed a Wally trophy in the Limited Street class on Saturday, May 7.

The Outlaw 10.5 field featured an impressive lineup of contenders, but few were able to match the performance of Lynch at the first race of the season in South Georgia. Lynch in his 2010 ZR1 Vette stayed cool and confident as he picked up No. 1 qualifier. He then continued to shine with a win over Jason Enos of Rehoboth, Mass. in Round 2. Lynch won the title with a 4.384 second pass at 191.70 mph over Griffen, Ga.’s Danny Lowery, 5.873 seconds at 100.14. Lynch also claimed the lowest e.t. and top speed of the race.

The excitement continued in the Limited Street class with Fiscus in his 2002 Ford Mustang pushing through round after round to the winner’s circle. Fiscus took the championship over No. 1 qualifier Steve Jackson. In the final round, Jackson marked a .041 reaction time lead over Fiscus’ .081, but Fiscus was quicker with a 4.491 pass at 178.50 mph. Fiscus’ run to the final included wins over Jimmy Griner and Will Stevenson.

Jeff Kyle of Wake Forest, N. C. won in the Trick Flow x275 Radial class. Index winners included: Kenny Anderson (8.5); David Harvey (9.5); Frankie Bishop (10.0); Bob George (11.0); Danny Towe (12.0) and Mike Clifford (13.0).
