NHRA RELAUNCHES MORE STREAMLINED NHRA.COM THAT OFFERS USERS SIMPLIFIED NAVIGATION AND IMPROVED FUNCTIONALITY

GLENDORA, Calif. (Oct. 9, 2013) – NHRA officials announced today that the website for the world’s largest motorsports sanctioning body, NHRA.com, has been relaunched with a brand-new look.

The new-look NHRA.com, which averages 4.8 million unique visitors and 41 million page views, features a sleek new design, improved functionality, simplified navigation and better organization of content.

“Our goal in the redesign of NHRA.com is to provide an improved user experience, making the site easier to navigate and putting our fans’ most important elements within easy reach,” said Gary Darcy, senior vice president of sales and marketing, NHRA. “Our fans and members have provided excellent feedback on the new design and we are excited to make the new NHRA.com available for everyone to use and enjoy.”

Among the leading elements of the site redesign, NHRA.com now provides users with a more prominent location to find key information about each event in the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series. Races will be prominently displayed in a scrolling bar near the top of the home page, with each event highlighted in its own capsule offering users a one-stop-shop for ticket and schedule information, TV times and results, among other options. The three upcoming events will be displayed at the top of the home page and users can easily scroll back and forth horizontally to view other events.

The new site also will feature more prominent placement of the videos and social media sections. In the video section, users can check out the latest featured videos, which offer highlights from recent Mello Yello Series events as well as the most recent episodes of NHRA Now. In the social media section, users can easily connect to NHRA’s pages on Facebook and Twitter.

Many of the most popular features on NHRA.com, such as the Dragster Insider, Driver Blogs and the NHRA.com Notebook, have been repositioned closer to the center of the home page to allow users better access. The lead story box has been expanded and now provides a larger area for the main photos and graphics and offers a selection of six main stories in rotation in addition to the news archive section.  Special sidebars on the home page will give users quick access to ticket and television information for the next event.

Users will continue to find familiar navigation buttons at the top of the home page that will access points standings for each NHRA racing series, Mello Yello Series driver bios, a variety of multimedia options, a basics section called NHRA 101 and the popular NitroMall.

Since 1995, when NHRA.com was launched as the first web presence for any motorsports sanctioning body, the site has consistently provided the latest news and developments in NHRA Drag Racing. To visit the new site, please go to http://www.nhra.com
