NHRA NEWS: JEGS RENEWS SPONSORSHIP OF NHRA SPORTSNATIONALS EVENTS THROUGH 2016

GLENDORA, Calif. (Oct. 31, 2013) – JEGS Mail Order, a nationwide leader in the sales and distribution of parts and supplies for the aftermarket performance industry, has signed an agreement with NHRA to continue as the title sponsor for all three NHRA SPORTSnationals events through 2016.  The end of this latest renewal will represent 12 consecutive years that JEGS Mail Order has sponsored NHRA Sportsman racing’s own “triple crown.” JEGS Mail Order came on board in 2005, one year after NHRA reinstituted the event.

The three NHRA SPORTSnationals events, which are a part of the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, include the JEGS NHRA Cajun SPORTSnationals at No Problem Raceway in Belle Rose, La.; the JEGS NHRA Northern SPORTSnationals at historic National Trail Raceway near Columbus, Ohio; and the JEGS NHRA Pacific SPORTSnationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

“JEGS Mail Order is pleased to continue the tradition of sponsoring all three NHRA SPORTSnationals events,” said Scott Woodruff, director of media and motorsports for JEGS Mail Order. “Simply put, this is a perfect fit for JEGS Mail Order and opportunity to give back to the sportsman racing community.”

Earlier this year, JEGS announced that it extended its sponsorship of the JEGS Allstars event, a race-within-a-race bonus program for the best of the best NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series competitors through 2016.

“The Coughlin family is firmly rooted in NHRA sportsman racing,” said Gary Darcy, senior vice president of sales and marketing, NHRA. “The third generation of Coughlins are now racing in the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, continuing that great family legacy of NHRA participation. We certainly appreciate their longtime support of the NHRA SPORTSnationals events.”

The JEGS NHRA SPORTSnationals are events on an impressive scale, made exceptionally meaningful by the camaraderie evident throughout the ranks of sportsman racers, but the intense competition, and by the understandable overall NHRA Drag Racing fun inspired by the events.

The JEGS NHRA SPORTSnationals showcases several of NHRA’s Lucas Oil Series categories exclusively.  Competitors in Competition Eliminator, Stock Eliminator, Super Stock, Super Comp, Super Gas, Super Street and Top Sportsman and Top Dragster compete for more than $50,000 at each of the JEGS NHRA SPORTSnationals.
