MOPAR NHRA JR. DRAG RACING LEAGUE WESTERN CONFERENCE FINALS BRINGS BEST YOUNG DRAG RACERS TO BANDIMERE SPEEDWAY
MORRISON, Colo. - Bandimere Speedway will host the Mopar NHRA Jr. Drag Racing League Western Conference Finals event presented by Lucas SlickMist & JR Race Car, July 7-9. Nearly 500 racers, ages 8 to 17 years, will compete for team and individual honors and a share of the $100,000 purse.
Teams of drivers in eight age categories drive half-scale dragsters powered by five-horsepower engines that may reach speeds up to 85 mph. They can cover the eighth-mile track in as quick as 7.90 seconds. Also in competition is the Jr. Comp class for racers 16 years and older, which run as fast as 110 mph in 6.90 seconds.
The top three finishing teams at the Mopar NHRA Jr. Drag Racing Western Conference Finals event will earn a share of $6,000 in savings bonds, and individual winners will each earn $5,000; runners-up will each earn $2,500; semifinalists will each get $1,000; and quarterfinalists receive $500 each. All awards will be paid in savings bonds.
Gates at Bandimere Speedway open at 7 a.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Each age category will get two time trials on Thursday, starting at 8 a.m., and one on Friday, starting at 8:30 a.m. Eliminations will start Friday at 2 p.m. and continue Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m.

Kids drive half-scale dragsters powered by five-horsepower engines and may run the eighth-mile track as quick as 7.90 seconds.

SCHEDULE: THURSDAY, July 7 - Gates open at 7 a.m. Time trials begin at 8 a.m. Each age group will have two time trial runs.
FRIDAY, July 8 - Gates open at 7 a.m. Time trials start at 8:30 a.m. Each age group will get one time trial. First round of elimination at 2 p.m.
SATURDAY, July 9 - Gates open at 7 a.m. Eliminations continue at 8:30 a.m.
