Burns Sets New Flathead World Record
Jim Marlett reported that Alan Burns of Gaithersburg, MD, set the lowest elapsed time ever recorded by a flathead dragster. His 7.68 beat Rick Schnell's previous record of 7.72. Both of these records were set with the same dragster, the Slider. Jim does not believe the motors were the same, but they no doubt shared some components. The Slider is the only flathead dragster to run in the sevens and has done so at three different races at three different tracks. Check out Jim's excellent flatheaddrag.com website.
