NHRA AND SUMMIT RACING EQUIPMENT ANNOUNCE LONG-TERM EXTENSION OF NORWALK TITLE RIGHTS

Summit Racing Equipment has maintained title rights sponsorship since inaugural Norwalk event in 2007

GLENDORA, Calif. (June 22, 2011) — Since the popular drag racing facility in Norwalk joined the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series in 2007, there has only been one title rights sponsor. And that title rights sponsor wants to see to it that it will remain that way for years to come.

NHRA and Summit Racing Equipment announced today a long-term title rights deal for the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals at the Norwalk drag strip that also bears the company’s name.

“Summit Racing is proud to announce the extension of our title rights sponsorship of the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals,” said Jim Greenleaf, motorsports and events manager, Summit Racing Equipment. “We are most fortunate to have such an incredible facility so close to our headquarters in Tallmadge, Ohio and to have a close relationship with the Bader family who constantly strive to make Summit Racing Equipment Motorsports Park one of the premiere tracks on the Full Throttle Drag Racing circuit. We look forward to being a part of this great race for many years to come.”

Summit Racing Equipment is the industry leader in the distribution of auto racing parts and equipment through catalogs and the Internet and is headquartered in Tallmadge, Ohio, a short distance from the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals at Summit Racing Equipment Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio.

“Summit Racing Equipment’s renewal clearly points to the return on investment it receives as title rights sponsor of one of the most anticipated stops on the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series tour,” said John Siragusa, senior director of sales and new business development, NHRA.

Summit Racing Equipment is one of the largest and most influential sponsors in NHRA Drag Racing at all levels. Their involvement in NHRA extends beyond title rights at the Norwalk event, including sponsorship of the SummitRacing.com NHRA Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Southern Nationals at Atlanta Dragway. Summit Racing Equipment is also the official high performance source of NHRA.

Summit Racing Equipment serves as the primary sponsor of current NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series Pro Stock world champion, Greg Anderson, as well as his teammate Jason Line, himself an NHRA world champion. Perhaps the biggest contribution Summit Racing Equipment makes to the sport is as series sponsor of NHRA’s bracket racing series that supports grassroots racers across the country, the NHRA Summit Racing Series.
