Pro Mods head to Orangeburg Sat. March 15, 2008

Orangeburg Dragstrip located In Orangeburg, SC will open their 2008 drag racing season March 15, 2008 with an Outlaw Pro Mod race.

Orangeburg Dragstrip is one of only a few tracks in the nation that run a regular Pro Mod season as well as hosting three Quick 8 Outlaws (auto) races.

We had as successful test and tune session on Feb 29 and March 1 with more than thiry of the top Pro Mod teams in the country and, we might add the world as we were entertained by Roger Johanson and crew with their Fulton-powered 1999 Ford Mustang. Roger ran a personal best 4.08 on Friday.

Other notable racers who ran great time were Mike Castellana with a 3.98 at 189 mph, Bubba Stanton with the "Widow Maker" running 3.92 at 172 show some great driving skills pedaling the car at 500' mark and Burton Auxier (current nitrous track record holder at 3.97) who ran a 4.04 at 184 mph.

We will also be running our sportsman classes along with jr. dragsters and bikes. Gates will open at 10:00 AM with first round of qualifing at 12Noon. Second round of qualifying is scheduled for 1:30 and first round elimination is set for 3:00 PM. All times are contingent upon having decent weather.
