Pat Musi Performance To Offer Contingency For First Time In ADRL

O'FALLON, MO (January 23, 2012) – One of the most recognizable names in the Pro Modified world will be an official contingency sponsor in the American Drag Racing League (ADRL) for the first time in 2012.

Pat Musi and Pat Musi Performance will pay contingency in Pro Nitrous, Pro Modified and Top Sportsman to drivers who use Pat Musi Performance Engines in the world's premier eighth-mile drag racing league, the ADRL announced on Monday.

"We're really excited about the ADRL and the direction it is headed. We love racing in the ADRL and having the Pro Modified class as an official class in 2012 is great," Musi said.

"We're pretty excited about the whole program and everyone there seems dedicated to making the ADRL successful. We want to help the guys that run our engines and help the ADRL, and we can all grow together."

A longtime standout Pro Street/Pro Modified racer, Musi has eight championship titles racing in the Pro Street class, and his Pat Musi Performance has been in business for more than 40 years.

His New Jersey-based 10,000 square foot facility is home to a number of drag racing innovations, including his fuel injection program.

It's been incredibly successful for the likes of Rickie Smith, who will be getting a new Pat Musi Performance engine for 2012, and John Hall, who had a successful 2011 season in the ADRL's Pro Nitrous class.

Hall will again race in Pro Nitrous on the 2012 ADRL Tour, which begins on March 30-31 at Royal Purple Raceway in Houston. It is the first of 10 stops at many of the nation's biggest tracks.

"I've been running fuel injection for the past 15 years. That's been kind of our niche. A lot of eyes have been on that and our engines were immediately fast," Musi said. "Fuel injection is the future.

"Over the winter, we were all dedicated to testing and working on a lot of new things, and hopefully we will continue to come out with a faster package. We've got a good bunch of cars right now and we're excited about showing our fuel injection program off."

Musi's willingness to embrace fuel injection technology could continue to pay off.

The ADRL was the first drag racing sanctioning body to allow Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) in Pro Stock, making the huge announcement in the Extreme Pro Stock class in December.

"That will open up doors for us and hopefully that will play into our hands," Musi said. "That is such an exciting thing, the ADRL allowing EFI in Extreme Pro Stock."

That's not the only big news to Musi, who is thrilled to introduce his new Top Sportsman fuel injection program in 2012.

One of the drivers who will be utilizing it will be Musi's daughter, Lizzy, who just turned 21 and will be driving for John Lee in the ADRL's growing Top Sportsman class.

"That is going to be a lot of fun," Musi said.

The diversity in the ADRL is something Musi will enjoy in 2012, while the world's premier eighth-mile drag racing league is thrilled to see more first-time sponsors for the upcoming season.

"It is great to see Pat and his company offer contingency for the 2012 season. That show of support means a great deal to drivers, and Pat's engines have certainly proven to be successful in a number of different classes," ADRL Executive Vice President Jeff Fortune said.
