VIRGINIAN WINS FORD FOCUS IN NHRA 60TH ANNIVERSARY SWEEPSTAKES

GLENDORA, Calif. (Dec. 21, 2011) – Bo Moxley, 58, of Independence, Va., has won the Grand Prize in NHRA’s 60th Anniversary Sweepstakes, a 2012 Ford Focus Titanium 5-Door, it was announced today by NHRA officials.

The NHRA 60th Anniversary Sweepstakes was a year-long promotion that ran in conjunction with many special events during NHRA’s 60th Anniversary celebration. In addition to the Grand Prize winner, 60 First Prize winners earned a pair of tickets to an NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series event of their choice, while 200 Second Prize winners received a limited edition NHRA 60th Anniversary Full Throttle Series T-Shirt.

“All of us at Ford Racing are thrilled for Bo and his family, and know they will enjoy their new 2012 Ford Focus,” said Tim Duerr, Motorsport Marketing Manager, Ford Racing.  “We were excited to partner on this sweepstakes with NHRA in its 60th year as we celebrated our own 110th anniversary season.  It’s efforts like this that help us reach out with great partners in racing and reach the race fans in a meaningful way for everyone involved.”

The 2012 Ford Focus Titanium 5-Door, with a retail value estimated at $24,000, is a stylish hatchback that doubles as a luxury car in a small package. Moxley plans to take ownership of his new Ford Focus Titanium at Huff Ford in Wytheville, Va.

“I haven’t won anything before, so this really means the world to me, it’s a real blessing,” said Moxley, a former drag racer who competed regularly at local tracks in Virginia and North Carolina throughout the 1970s and ’80s. “I have been an NHRA fan all of my life and we attend races in Bristol and Charlotte when we can. The two cars that I own both have over 200,000 miles on them, so winning this Ford Focus couldn’t have come at a better time for me and my wife. We’re both thrilled. We want to thank NHRA and Ford for offering this great sweepstakes program.”
