Drag racing track plans lose traction
It was a jampacked room split down the middle. Sitting on one side of the Marion County Commission Auditorium on Tuesday were area racing enthusiasts champing at the bit to see a one-eighth mile drag racing strip built next to the Ocala Speedway on County Road 25A. On the other were residents vehemently opposed to the track, saying its construction would be tantamount to noise pollution.
