Payne returns to drag circuit
Shelly Payne figured she was just another of the former National Hot Rod Association stars who had their flash in the pan before fading off into near oblivion. But the former Shelly Anderson, winner of four national events in Top Fuel during the 1990s, jettisons herself from that list this weekend when she competes in the AMS Pro Mod class at the 36th Gatornationals in Gainesville, Fla.
