THE BLUE OVAL WILL SHINE AT YORK

York, PA - June 10, 2009

The 8th Annual Musclecar Madness at the York Reunion presented by York Traditions Bank and GGS Technical Publications Services on July 10th and 11th at the York Expo Center, York Fairgrounds will include a Salute to Ford among the action packed festivities for the two day event.

Although the late Ronnie Sox gained his national renown with MoPar entries the York show will have on display his last race car, a '64 Pro-Mod Falcon, and will include the Jake King Tribute Car, a '64 Ford Thunderbolt, recognizing Ronnie's very talented crew chief.

Among the vast group of legendary Ford entries will be Eddie Schartman's Rattler II funny car, the Gas Ronda altered wheelbase Mustang A/FX, Randy Bramwell's Ed Martin Ford '64 Ford Thunderbolt, Bob Salerno's "Salty's Super Shaker" '55 T-bird, Don Fezzell's '08 "Daddy Warbucks" Cobra Jet Mustang, Joe Conlon's '63 Ford Galaxie "Front Royal Motors" factory light weight, Greg Sullivan's '65 A/FX Falcon "Strip Teaser", Sam Auxier, Jr.'s '69 Boss Mustang, '64 Dyno "Don" Nicholson Wagon, '64 hardtop, and '65 Comet from 422 Motorsports, a group of immaculate '60's Fords from the Ford Fairlane Club of America, Larry Knapp's '66 SOHC Mustang all the way from California, Phil Bonner's '64 Falcon "Warbucks" entry by Jim Cagle, Marco DeCesaris's Bob Glidden '78 Fairmont Pro Stocker, Joe Spinelli's Al Joniec "Mr. Speed" '69 Boss 429 Mustang, plus a whole host of other outstanding Ford entries too numerous to mention.

The show will also feature an outstanding group of Chevrolet, AMC, and MoPar entries from throughout the United States. Two of Wally Booth's "Killer Kelvinators" will be on display from Donny Schmitz's stables. The '73 AMC Gremlin and the '73 AMC Hornet will be on display along with Gordy Chilson's Doug Thorley AMC Javelin funny car.

A who's who in drag racing will occur both days with Bill "Grumpy" Jenkins, Wally Booth, Gordy Foust, Bob Tasca, Sr., Sam Auxier, Jr., Phil Bonner, Linda Vaughn "Miss Hurst Golden Shifter", Bruce Larson, Arlen Vanke, Earl Wade, Bud Faubel, Al Joniec, Jerry Baltes, John Healey, Tommy Grove, Bob Chipper, Joe Jacono, Jack Werst, Hubert Platt, plus an extended list of other Legends of Drag Racing will be available for autographs and bench racing for the weekend.

A special model display will be presented by the Central Pennsylvania Modelers of highly detailed models from their club members and a special display by the Ford Fairlane Club of America will be a highlight.

The Cruisin' into Summer cruise in will be presented both days by the Cruisin' Columbia staff. Friday 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Entries can be registered the day of the show.

The show is a benefit for the York County SPCA with a special memorabilia auction on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. Special drawings are held for the two days and proceeds from the People's Choice voting canisters will all be presented at the show. The goal is to exceed the $5500 that was presented in 2008.

Admission to the show is $25.00 for discount two day ticket, $15.00 single day, children under 12 free and free parking. All active service men and women will be admitted free upon presentation of their active i.d.
