After 56 years of leading NHRA Championship Drag Racing from its inception into a sporting entity featuring more than 80,000 members worldwide, founder Wally Parks passes away on Sept. 28 at the age of 94. Parks' death is preceded by a scary accident involving John Force and Kenny Bernstein that hospitalizes 14-time champion Force for 23 days at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas. NHRA.com is spending the last few days of 2007 revisiting the headlines of the year in quarterly installments.
