Olympia-based team has fast Funny Car despite little money
Olympia's Jerry Goddard and Gary Monroe could be excused for feeling somewhat like proverbial Davids against a series of Goliaths.
Goddard and Monroe are members of a team that competes in the National Hot Rod Association Top Alcohol Funny Car class. The team's Pontiac Firebird is driven by Brian Hough of Eugene, Ore., Goddard's son-in-law.
