  • RACE WEEK SCHEDULE: Feb. 6-10, 2008 (Pre-race Press Conference, Wednesday at noon at The Derby in Arcadia; Qualifying Session 1, Thursday 2-3:30 p.m.; Qualifying Session 2, Friday 2-3:30 p.m.; Qualifying Sessions 3 & 4, Saturday 12-4:30; Race, Sunday 11 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.)

    • 2007 Rookie of the Year Ashley Force, a Cal State Fullerton alum and Orange County resident, begins her second professional campaign after transcending the sport in a 2007 debut highlighted by guest appearances on Good Morning America and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno
    • NHRA and Auto Racing icon John Force, an Orange County resident and Ashley's father, seeks speedy return from serious accident that sidelined him in September, 2007
    • NHRA celebrates Black History Month with former Rookies of the Year Antron Brown and J.R. Todd – who will be competing against one another in the premier Top Fuel class – and former NBA star Tom Hammonds among the most popular and competitive drivers on the POWERade Series circuit
    • Southern California native Tony Pedregon returns home to begin defense of his 2007 POWERade Series world championship
    • 2006 Sportswoman of the Year Melanie Troxel jumps from Top Fuel to Funny Car where she will now compete head-to-head against her husband and driver of the Monster Energy Dodge Charger, Tommy Johnson, Jr.
    • Year 2 of the Countdown to the Championship, which created dramatic, tension-filled championship points races culminating with championship Sunday last Nov. 4 at Auto Club Raceway at Pomona.
