Thunder Road Raceway Park Returns to IHRA

NORWALK, Ohio (April 9, 2010) – IHRA and Feld Motorsports is pleased to announce that Thunder Road Raceway Park, located just outside of Shreveport, La., has rejoined the International Hot Rod Association as a member track, the IHRA announced Friday.

Thunder Road Raceway Park, which formerly held IHRA national events during the late 90s, will return to the sanctioning body and immediately begin competition within the ultra-competitive Summit SuperSeries with other programs to follow.

“Thunder Road Raceway Park is proud to wear the IHRA badge. I have heard a lot of people say if only we had a sanctioning body, well that is one less thing to worry about,” said track manager Robert Kornegay. “Everyone knows that the IHRA is the sportsman friendly sanctioning body and that is exactly what we need at TRRP.”

“It is refreshing to know that track operators continue to recognize IHRA’s unwavering commitment to sportsman racing,” said Skooter Peaco, VP of Race Operations. “They were ready to return to racing with the premier sportsman sanctioning body and we will continue to provide them with the best programs in the country for which to build a foundation around.”

Thunder Road Raceway Park joins State Capitol Raceway as the second IHRA sanctioned track in the state of Louisiana. For more information about the track logon to www.thunderroadracewaypark.com or check back with www.ihra.com for the latest news and updates.
