Regnier, Oien, Jackman, and Bromley take wins at the NHRA Division 6 Summit ET Race of Champions on September 5, 2009. Each has earned the opportunity to race at the National Championship at Pomona in November.
Super Pro winner, David Regnier, from Bend , OR strapped a .002 light on Kent , WA ’s Lloyd York and ran his number with a 4 to score a .006 package in the victory. York had a stellar .007 reaction time, but it was definitely Regnier’s day as his 66 Nova was nearly perfect. Regnier was racing for Madras while York is a member of Pacific Raceway’s contingent.

Sportsman racer, Martin Jackman, from Eagle Motorplex in
Pacific Raceway’s Kevin Bromeley took the win in Bike/Sled over Woodburn Dragstrip’s Roger Wolff in a double breakout finish. Bromley dialed 9.80 and ran 9.782 to Wolff who dialed 9.56 and ran 9.529.
High School was won by Josh Wilson, representing Woodburn Dragstrip over Renegade’s Jesse Neveu.
The Junior Lightning victory was claimed by
Junior Thunder’s Meghan Molinari, racing for Portland , was victorious over Woodburn Dragstrip’s Jerold Mix. Molinari was nearly perfect, running a 9.030 on a 9.03 dial-in at 73.15 mph to Mix’s breakout 11.228.
The Track Manager’s Challenge was claimed by Portland International Raceway over Spokane County Raceway by a 36 to 30 margin. Woodburn Dragstrip came in third with 29 points and Firebird scored 27. The other first-day team scores were: Madras Dragstrip – 26; Bremerton Raceway – 24; Pacific Raceways – 21; Champion Raceway – 17; Eagle Motorples – 17; Mission Raceway park – 17; Medicine Hat – 16; Renegade Raceway – 16; Coos Bay – 9; Lakeview – 7; Walla Walla Dragstrip – 6; Lewiston – 2; and Lost Creek – 1.
